Professional Experience Diary – Day 4
Today i spent researching into what carers are, and the daily task they have to do. Before i went into this project, i thought it was important for me to gain a clear understanding on carers and the hard work they do. I feel this was important for me to be able to use empathy will the film rather than sympathy. I don’t want the DVD to be feeling sorry for the people in care, rather an informative piece that show’s the help they get.
A friend of mine has been a carer for his mum for many years, so i met with him so he could explain to me what he has to go though. I took a note pad and jotted down some of his daily tasks, but they aren’t pleasant so i won’t repeat them here. I went away with quite a sad feeling about what he has to go though, as i had no idea how time-consuming and heart breaking it could be.
